Flipside Circus Workshops
Roll Up! Roll Up! Come and join our circus workshops for an hour or a day and learn a range of new skills.
Flipside Circus is back with another fantastic range of workshops to make school holidays even more fun. Whether it’s tackling the trapeze or harnessing the hula-hoop, your kids will have a blast at Flipside Circus’ workshops.
No matter what your child’s skill level is, Flipside Circus trainers will help them learn new circus skills and give them a chance to show off.
Flipside Circus’ expert trainers work with young people to teach ground and aerial circus skills including juggling, hula-hoop, acro-balance, mini-trampoline, tumbling, and trapeze.
The workshops are challenging and focus on; building self-confidence, physical skills and fitness, and teamwork.
Who is Flipside Circus?
Flipside Circus is Queensland’s largest youth circus with a national reputation for excellence in training and performance. We believe circus provides a unique opportunity for your people to show off, take risks, trust, dream and aspire, work hard, laugh and have fun.
Flipside Circus began when a group of families and circus artists got together to run community based circus workshops. Incorporated in 1998, the organisations first workshops were held under a tree in West End’s Orleigh Park. Since then Flipside has grown and developed all the while maintaining a strong dedication to delivering child-centred circus opportunities to young people regardless of their circumstances.
Along the way Flipside has helped train generations of professional circus artists, worked with world leading trainers, and earned a reputation as one of Australia’s leading youth arts companies. Our performances have earned wide applause at venues and festivals around Australia.
Mount Isa Workshops
Kindy camp 18months – 4 years (1 hour, capacity 16)
Little circus stars work with their parents/carers and Flipside’s artists/trainers to explore all the fun the circus has to offer. Play-based classes include the full range of circus equipment including: trapeze, tissu, hula-hoops, mini-tramp, and more.
- Tuesday Kindy Camp 9:30 – 10:30am, $15
- Thursday Kindy Camp 9:30 – 10:30am, $15
Flipperoos camp 4 – 9 years (1.5 hours, capacity 16)
A bouncy and active 1.5 hour workshop with lots of play for beginners! The Flipperoos camp is a play-based workshop that encourages young children to explore circus in a nurturing environment.
- Tuesday Flipperoos Camp 10:30 – 12:00pm, $25
- Thursday Flipperoos Camp 10:30 – 12:00pm, $25
RESIDENCY workshops 8 – 16 years (capacity 16 per day)
Two residency workshops 4 hour day 1 sessions and 6 hour intensive day 2 Flipside trainers work with local artists, acro and tumbling students to develop new skills and to tell their own stories using circus. Come and learn circus tricks you’ll never forget! From juggling to mini-tramp, trapeze to tumbling, learn new skills on the ground and in the air. At the end of the 2 days perform some of your new skills for friends and family.
- Tuesday 4 hour Residency Workshop Day 1, 1:00 – 5:00pm, $60
- Wednesday 6 hours intensive Residency Workshop Day 2, 10:00 – 4:00pm, $90
Adults Circus Fit, Aerials, Tumbling and Skill Sharing workshop 16yrs+ (2 hours, capacity 16)
Flipside trainers work with local artists, coaches, dance teachers and adults to develop new skills and to tell their own stories using circus.
