NWG Classes Suspended
To our Gym Families, Gymnasts, Coaches and Gym Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that as of today, Monday 23rd March 2020, North West Gymnastics will close its doors temporarily for the remaining duration of Term 1, and for the foreseeable and as yet unknown future. Last night the Prime Minister announced the decision of the National Cabinet to ban many services seen as non-essential around the country this includes Indoor Sporting Venues.
I am very aware that this decision will affect our 500 plus current members, and that some 12 casual staff will not have access to their normal wages during this time. I am also very aware that the duration of the closure is unknown and that the longer the duration of the closure, the more difficult it will be to restart operations.
I want to thank all of you for your support in these uncertain and anxious times and applaud you for assisting us with the additional hygiene measures and our amended operational guidelines that were implemented over the last few weeks.
I am hopeful that we can endure this time of forced closure and reopen when circumstances permit to once again not just teach gymnastics and fundamental movement but to deliver on our values of Enjoyment, Life Skills, Growth Mindset, Commitment and Honesty.
Our coaches are committed to you our members, we love what we do which makes the good times better and the tough times worth it. We will draw on the strength, resilience and grit that we have instilled and developed not just in your children but also in ourselves.
To our gymnasts, we are not abandoning you and we know that it sucks to no longer have training at the gym to look forward to but don’t despair. Each of your coaches are working to provide you with super fun ways to keep up your training, help you stay active and healthy it will just be a little different to normal and may take a few days for us to get this up and running. Take a few days to let this sink in. It’s not forever.
You may be wondering what will happen with payments made for classes for the remainder of this term. Our commitment to you is to hold these funds in credit towards classes when we are able to open our doors again. It may be weeks from now or even months, but we stand by our club policies regarding cancelled classes. For Term 2 as we do not yet know when we will be able to open to run classes, we will continue to process re-enrolments for current students and you will have the following options available:
- Take advantage of our Family Loyalty Credit program:
We are offering all Current Term 1, Term students a Family Loyalty Credit for enrolling and paying for our Term Based Classes for Term 2.
How it works:
In the event of a Whole Gym Closure, we will credit you the cancelled Term Classes at 110% towards Term 3 or Term 4 classes.
Term Students must have:
-
- Paid current annual student membership fees
- Remain enrolled for the entirety of Term 2 and
- Be financially current
Bonus: Students with current paid membership and remain enrolled for the duration of Term 2 will also receive a $20 Commerce North West Buy Local Gift Card.
For our Squad Gymnasts closure weeks will be prorated as a credit to future terms.
We will also continue to offer makeup class options and flexibility with our 10 class passes for our casual classes as per our policies.
- You can choose to Opt Out:
We understand that everything in the world has been turned upside down and you may not wish to commit to gymnastics in the short term. That’s ok please don’t feel guilty, you need to do what is best for your family right now. If you choose to opt out I want to thank you for trusting us with your children and giving them an amazing opportunity to experience gymnastics, the joy of movement and realise they are stronger, capable of great things and that “ Yet” is a very powerful word that can change their mindset and how they view and deal with struggles and failure.
Now is the time to stay connected while we observe physical distancing we can and will remain connected to you through all our channels of communication. Facebook, Instagram, our Website, emails and text messages. Stay tuned. I have not given up hope and I will move mountains to be able to continue with my passion for helping kids discover, maintain and explore the joy of fundamental movement so that they can be confident, happy, healthy children who are strong, determined and resilient. Challenges make us stronger and can be a wonderful magical thing because when we emerge from the other side, we will realise that there are always things to be grateful for.
Keep Safe, hug your kids and smile.
With much Love and Respect,
Miss Kylie
